Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was chartered on December 1, 1925 with students from Cleveland, Mather and Oberlin Colleges. Twelve new members were introduced to the public in early 1926.

The Chapter's Community service projects have been ambitious in scope and successful in execution. in addition, Omega Chapter has collaborated with its supervising Graduate Chapter Alpha Omega on numerous occasions, which include Cluster meetings, community events and Regional Conferences.
Omega chapter made history yet again in July 2016 when chapter member, Keniece Gray, was elected as the International Second Vice President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated for the 2016 - 2018 term.
